Hole in fairing

I apologize if this is posted in wrong place, couldn't really find a "body" section. As with most of these bikes, my fairings have their fair share of, uh, "battle wounds". I've researched a fair bit to try to find out how to fix a hole in the plastic. But most people only show how to fix cracks. I somehow need to patch a hole. What do some of you guys do? My thought was fiberglass and bondo but I have been educated to the fact that won't work.

Find scrap abs wherever you can or buy abs sheet, cut to fit and bond with proper epoxy or plastic welding. I use West System GFlex epoxy (expensive but incredible stuff) and I used parts from a coffe maker to repair fairings. All plastic from a certain date must be marked as to it's composition for recycling purposes. It will say abs right on it. See my long winded, self indulgent thread where I detail the process. Start with page 3, or, if you're a masochist, read the whole thing. Here's the link... It followed me home...

I do fairings repairs.
Section in the "For Sale" area with pics of completed work.

Holes done no differently than cracks.
You need the right stuff to do it though.
Hot air or hot iron plastic welding and some ABS to patch with.

And no, fiberglass and "Bondo" won't cut it.

You could half way "repair" it using some Plastex brand epoxy.
Tape off the outside of the fairing. Mix it up and fill the hole. Let it cure, peel tape, sand lightly.
Will it stay and be permanent? Meh..... maybe....
But it's not anything I recommend for a proper repair.

Thank you one evil monkey. But I feel like the shipping to NC for the front fairing would be insane!!

Depends.
I've sent completed uppers to Ohio, Florida, Louisiana... for a whole $45.
Fuel tanks to California for $15...

You just have to know how to pack it as small and light as possible.
Then check with USPS, UPS, and FedEx for the best rate.

Email me your address if you want and I can give you an idea of what your round trip cost would be.
