When he says "whacked out", he means the old guy definition that it is bad {insert eek surprise smilie here}, not the young dude definition that it is good {insert big grin smilie here}

4 of us out Eastern Long Island today...not one EX among us.

BMW R1200RS
Triumph 675
CBR600
VFR800

132 miles round trip from our meet spot. I tip my hat to Queens and Brooklyn members (Foxjog andd Chindian) who did more just to get there...and bonus...everyone was early! Very cool out there...way east of Shelter Island. Great fun, roads, and company.

Only the first...many more to follow this year.

Montauk next, I think.

Hope you guys had a good ride.

Man, an EX500 would have a tough time keeping up if you guys ever opened up. I got onto the Queensboro bridge on Saturday alongside a BMW R1200RS. He made it seem like I stalled my bike....

It was a hardcore ride of sorts, no bs, 1 breakfast stop on way out to destination ....no stops on way back.

I'll admit between very cool, fresh air and first long riding activity of the season...I was beat upon return.

Montauk Point Lighthouse next....watching weekend weather. I'd suggest early leave...Montauk highway to get out there reasonably quick...then the back roads homebound in the afternoon, alternative as highway traffic intensifies somewhat. Its a long haul, but a classic ride for any NY biker.

Best to be done before Memorial Day weekend...traffic absolutely intolerable during season, though 6AM out and on way home by 9AM is doable.

I would be very interested in a very early, sunrise ride for this weekend. My wife and I are babysitting my nephew the whole weekend and I don't want to be away too late in the day. Keep me posted.

You sure didn't pull up next to foxjog?

It was a good ride. I was definitely beat up too. Wind on the way back was a bitch so I took my time.

Will let you guys know later in the week if I can make this weekend.

I was hoping to get a proper ride Friday but looks like that isn't happening

Money can't buy happiness. But it can buy a motorcycle. And you can't be sad on a motorcycle.<br /><br />"That's kinda like bragging you got 30K miles out of your original oil filter before the rod bearings failed."

I'm up for a ride tomorrow. If not long Island I'll probably head up to bear mountain to get lost.

I'm tackling some 250 ninja carb work this weekend....thinking ahead...I'm filling in at the old job for the whole week and need to "clear my plate". More incoming carbs this week too, feast or famine.

The last couple rainy days I installed Racetech Gold valves in the VFR ...painting the beat up fork legs while removed.

Blacked out fork legs look nice. They were really beat up, 40K miles and years of road debris.

Unsure on Sunday.....
