Seems these forums have calmed down quite a bit as of late. I haven't looked at them in ages.. as life has changed quite a bit for me. That's even is anyone really remembers me... I think Ducatiman might.
Anyway, the short of it... bought a house, had a kid, have another kid on the way in August. I know it's a bit far for some of you but I am planning a couple of decent sized rides in July, before the arrival of the kid in August. I miss bringing people around my stomping ground up here in the Catskills. I am sure Ducatiman can vouch for some of the roads I brought him on... and I can vouch for how awesome he was when he was here.
Anyway, Just thought I would pop my head in and say hello.
OOOO... I am not on my EX500 anymore... I ended up paying it off... road it for one more year after that and traded it in. I bought it for 4000 and ended up getting 3500 4 years after buying it and dropping it twice as a trade in. So, I am on a Charcoal gray 2014 Ninja 650. Freaking LOVE IT! Perfect bike for me and how I ride.
I will keep my eyes here for the next week or so to see if there is interest.
Welcome back! I think I recall you posting up way back in the day. Not a whole lot of us who have been around for many years posting anymore. Lots of folks are here for a few years, sell their EX to get a bigger bike and never look back. Such is life. I know I'm here for the long haul. My 900SS, for which Ducatiman has provided wonderful tips and tricks for, is fantastic but will never replace my EX as a daily rider.
Might remember? Of course I do, L. My regards to N (the Missus, hows my memory doin?) You livin' the dream, eh? Congrats on house and fatherhood! Still same employ, teach? 650 Ninj nice ride.
The roads around the Catskill and reservoir area were/are awesome, nice to have a tour guide *very* familiar with the area. We had good time, good company and great riding.
Can't commit to anything in July without specific dates, active & busy despite being "retired". And would require at least 1 overnight stay (for me at least) as I did previously. Perhaps some other NE members will express interest as well.
Well... most of July is open for me... so you all can pick some dates and I am good...
Only days that I am booked at current... July 1 - 3 Helping a friend with some work on the 1st. N works (you are correct Ducatiman) on the 2 and 3. Then Jully 9 - 10 N working... though it's her last shifts until well after baby number two comes.
So I am open. I have a local buddy that would probably come with as well. He and I rode more this week than we have both ridden in the last year. BEAUTIFUL ride yesterday after work.. BEAUTIFUL!
Finishing the questions...
Yeah I'm living the dream. I have a bunch of small house projeccts to tend to, and need to finish getting ready for baby 2. I am going to build baby 1's big boy bed from scratch at some point as well. N is doing well, though this pregnancy is kicking her ass a bit. We are both pretty sure that Number 2 is it.
I am still in touch with one or two people I met here back in the day over on facebook jus tto keep up and chat every now and again. So many other things took over life as of late really. 2 years ago it was getting ready for baby and buying the house. We closed on our house 6 weeks before number 1 was born. How is that for stress. Last year, N forced me to get my bike serviced and what have you... made the appointments and kicked me out of the house said don't come back until you have at least 75 miles. LoL this season, I am a little more comfortable leaving the hosue with the bike and going out for rides. And like I said, I am planning a couple of day trips for myself... hence the open invite to you all.
I don't have exact days, but I do have exact roads and directions I want to go.
And there are days I miss my 500R. They are very few and far between though, because getting on this newer 650 was like going from a Yugo to a BMW for me. So much more comfortable on the 650 than I was on the 500r. Just because I don't ride on it, doesn't mean I can't drop a hello here from time to time either.
That, and I need people to star in my GoPro Videos.
Hey. I've gone up to the Catskills several times on my bicycle and absolutely enjoy the roads and scenery. I, however, haven't had the chance to ride past Cornwall/Storm King/Cold Spring on the motorcycle. You're lucky to have access to great roads basically right out your door. Hope to ride with you soon!
Life just got SUPER SUPER BUSY! As it does when you are starting a family.
Mrs. Xeserox is doing really well... we now have two kiddos, and she still likes to kick me out of the house for a few hours to ride. She refuses to let me sell the bike. In fact, the newer bike is almost paid off already.
I know I am not super active on here... but I though I would just say hello. I do miss having the time to keep up on these forums.
2, 2, 2 times the fun! ;D Seriously, congrats to both you and N (and my regards to her!). Really glad to hear, you sound happy. Boys? Girls?
You owe us no apologies, your lifestyle and "busy", understandably, go hand in hand. Both working, and 2 youngsters? If not busy...certainly demanding.
Gonna shoot you a PM, some info I prefer to keep off board.
Hey, post up now and then, great to hear N condones your riding. We all know how therapeutic it is. How many miles on the 650?
