Just bought my first street bike

Just wanted to say hello and thanks for the add. Just bought my first street bike a 1989 kawasaki 500ex, it needs a little help here and there but it's pretty solid (at least I think). Picked it up for what seemed like a steal.

Grats and welcome. Yours is a Gen 1...be sure to read up on updates and mods you can do.

I'm sure others will chime in shortly.

Great starter bike, to learn riding, maintenance and general ownership requirements.

Urge you to explore the wiki, tons of info there for the pickin'.

Thanks to the enormous wiki section on here I have my ex running like a champ on issue now is to trace back my headlight wiring and figure out why they are not turning on... the P.O. did a number on the wiring on this thing... hopeing it's just the fuse in the junction box... but since it's gonna be nasty rainy here for the next week seems like a good time to remove the junction box anyway to inspect and replace the starter relay as it is intermittent on when it wants to start
