Spam in the wiki

Hit the Random page link in the wiki and this popped up

http://www.ex-500.com/wiki/index.php...HendrikaYan891

Is there any way to delete this?

They're BAAAAAaaaaaaack!

The first 3 hits searching for "starter" are legit, the next 80 are all spammers.

Re: Spam in the wiki

Thanks, i've sent a message to the Wiki Admins.

That'd be TwoWheels, ShadesofGray, and DragKnee for future reference.

Re: Spam in the wiki

This can't be fixed by me. The way the owners of this site have configured the Wiki is any anonymous use on the Internet, including spambots, can create a wiki page. It is only after the Wiki page is created that I can make a configuration change to the page to restrict further editing changes to authenticated members of this site. The change that has to be made to fix this is to fix the configuration defaults for the Wiki software. Only the owners of this site have sufficient privileges to do this.

We can delete these spam pages until we are blue in the face but spam bots can create them much faster than we can delete them.

I am the genie of the toaster, here to grant you three wishes... provided they are of a toast-based nature.

Everything should be cleaned up by tomorrow, and permissions are being set so only registered users can edit.

I'd hate to resurrect an old topic, but following http://www.ex-500.com/wiki/index.php...Special:Random takes you to endless spam users. Also, when I try to log in/create an account on the wiki, it just sends me back to the forum index page. Is that how the wiki login should operate?
