Pictures of the synchronization. Picture #1 the clear tube used to monitor fuel. Picture #2 the sync tool set up. Bonus picture, trying show entire length of the fuel feed.

Update: My new (used) pair system air valve came in yesterday. I got it hooked up today. Initial indications are telling me that this is probably going to be the answer. Gave the new (used) valve a vacuum check, and it does indeed hold vacuum. Once installing it, I had to lower my idle about 500 rpm's. No surprise there. I think before changing it, I was getting a whiff of fuel in the exhaust, that I cant detect any more. My whiffer isn't as good as most of yours, so I wont put a lot of stock in the whiff test. It is absolutely warming up about 3 times faster, and running hotter. That is back to normal, because it was running cool. My next indicators are going to be my mpg's. I cant give it the final thumbs up until I check the spark plugs in about 2000 miles. I will update my mpg's as they come in. Fair warning: If this turns out to be the fix, there is going to be some serious bpe tooting his own horn action.

Update: Took the EX on a test ride. To Montgomery, Al. and back. Mpg's to Montgomery were 55. Mpg's back to Atlanta were 63. FYI, this does not mean that Alabama has better gas than Georgia, on the return trip I did some aero dynamic crouching, and I drafted a few tractor trailers, just to get the number up. City riding mpg's to come later, but this is looking good.

Those figures are good. Go much leaner and things will go wrong. If the outside temp drops, the engine will have a lean surge or begin blubbering at partial throttle. You guys in semi-tropical areas have an advantage here.

^ Just want to get to my original lean, before the running rich mishap. I do believe I'm there, will wait for final conformation with a spark plug inspection in about 2000 miles.
