Yesterday, I was running an errand to SRCA, about 80 miles one way. By the time I went back to my favorite Chevron on Park St, Alameda for fuel, I got the fuel consumption of 53MPG(starts with 35 miles driven on this tank).
I must say, this result looks more "healthy" than before. But I am still preparing myself to get the valve clearance adjustment done.
You can attribute Chevron as part of the reason. I have found that Chevron or Texaco (same thing), is the best gas, for all my vehicles. It always ( or usually, because it is possible to get "bad" gas from them also) gets the highest mileage.

chevron with techron good stuff. I get the techron fuel injection cleaner from Costco by the case when its on sale.
What does that stuff do on our old school carbs?
