mgbenny I'm so sorry to hear about your wreck. I don't go to this part of the forum so I just found out. my son was telling me about reading your post here. I've had road rash from bicycling but very minor compared to yours. I couldn't even look at all the pictures.I'm glad to see your ok now. The accident must have happened right after we met.
I didn't get the bike I was looking at on Ksl. I don't know how your bike is but I have the guys number if you want it. The bike is cheap and your parts could go right on it. Good luck. it looks like it's going to leave a mark but your over the hump. Bill

Yeah if infection strikes I'm definitely going to bite the bullet and get looked at.  As far as she goes, they gave me a ticket for leaving the scene of an accident but I intend to defend myself there.  We'll see what happens.

so they expected you both to lay there bleeding on the side of the road and call a cop and wait for him to get there? wtf mate? if there were other motorists involved it would be one thing, but there weren't.

They might have just been annoyed at someone crashing w\out proper gear and decided to stick it to him... or they might have issued a ticket because they were writing it down in the report and didn't feel they had the discretion to do something different... almost certainly could get it dropped in court or before... depending on other charges.

 Grin
Just wear the gear folks.
Doesn't matter if around the block or around the state, just wear the proper approved gear.
At the end if shit happens, you know you did your best up to that point.
Thanks for posting this subject.
Usually, there are two kinds of bikers, those that went down and those still to go down....be safe. Wink

edit: I'm one of those thats been down. Looking at my gear, it's clear that without it, I'd have risked cranial damage or severe road rash. I escaped with very slight bruising and a blister on one finger. The EX500 on the hand, needed new fairings, paint job, switch cluster, left mirror,  gear selector, left foot peg and original decal's which costed the earth from Kawasaki, so I got just the "GPZ" from them and the rest of e-bay and the red strips of a sticker company that made them for me cheaper. My fall was related to gravel mid corner, front end went away....bike in a ditch...me 20 meteres in front of the bike, sliding on my "a$$"' and back until I too ended up in the same ditch. Roll Eyes

dude seriously i'm getting sick just thinking of scrubbing my own rash out not medicated. I'd work 4 jobs to pay the bill off just to be knocked out and not have to feel that. Kudos for taking full responsability and accountablility and taking the time to post this for the people that think accidents don't happen just down the road from home. People get to relaxed close to home and most accidents happen just miles from home. Glad your both all right
