the craziest/most interesting parts to me:

1. when he has to ride on the beach through the dooflgager or whatever it was called.

2. he and jose fought in the same war on opposite sides, but can still be friends.

I think that excursion on the dunes and ocean was pretty poorly planed and very stupid. They nearly ran out of gas one person got injured. Even if they had a SPOT who's going to show up to save them?

Well something about nudity got a lot of strange looks in my office...

There's a pointed difference between nudity and pornography that Americans fail to grasp.

Pornography is specifically intended to cause sexual excitement.  Only the most conservative bible thumper could find the pictures in that thread objectionable.  Hell, the women there were walking around topless, and it's not like all the dudes were sporting wood.

Just the riders. I've been around so many breast feeding women these past few years I've been inoculated.

'twas the strip clubs that did me in.  Reminds me of the South Park where Randy figures out that the internet has ruined 'regular' porn for him.  He needs to be able to find sick shit online to masturbate :p

incredible story.  makes me feel like a whimp for sure.  our country is just so sacred now that we dont do as much of this hardy stuff anymore.  they are from south africa already though right?  thats makes it more understandable at least.  i had a friend that did a desert trip to Namib once in a truck.  put the truck in a ditch 4 days from the nearest town...he loved it!  its so cool that these trips can be done all over the world.

thanks for the post

DUDE EPIC.  I want to do something like this so badly its not even funny.  Perhaps south america would be a fun trip.  That section where the highway drops off for 100 miles i bet is pretty fun.

This is a pretty good story. The most epic though this one http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=504942 , How to ride through Afghanistan in one piece.

The photos tell the story and are all 1st rate National Geographic type. They really get to know the people and their heartbreaking stories.
