I want to modify my front blinkers and cannot see spending 40 for flushmounts.  So I was wondering if this would be a good cheapo solution.  I would remove the current ones and position them behind the fairing and then glue or epoxy them into position.   Then cut some Plexiglas and tint it 5% and put it over the existing hole.  Good or bad idea?

I bought 3 wire Lockhart Phillips Flush Mount IIIs for around $13.  With 3 wire you keep your running lights.  Mine currently have LED bulbs inside.  I got them from Chapparral.

Did they mount in the factory hole?

Was also looking at these but can't tell if they are the same shape or not.

Not quite the same shape.  Mine are a big kite shaped one.  I'm not too sure drivers will see those blacked out ones.

I didn't try to put them in the factory hole because I was worried they wouldn't be seen.  I don't know if you can tell by my avatar, but I tried to put them on the widest part of the fairing.  They do go on with 2 screws so they might be able to fit over the factory hole, but I can't remember for sure.  If they don't, it seems to me you could use 2 cheap metal braces that would be larger than the holes on the inside of the hole and drill 2 holes for the screws and they would stay put.

Also, the electrical connectors don't mate up with Kawi's.  You will either have to twist the wires together or you can get matching connectors at a tractor dealer.  I got mine from John Deere.
