Rear break pedal goes easy and deep

Hey all, I've got a 2001 Kawasaki Ninja EX500r that I just bought / used / 32,000 km's roughly. I noticed that the rear brake pedal goes down VERY far when pressed the first time but if pumped a few times seems to function correctly. Do I need to bleed the brakes or could this be an indication of something more serious? I'll apologize in advance if this is a topic previously covered, I did do a quick search but didn't anything immediately other than a post involving bleeding the brakes.
Thanks all

i would say the its just got some air in the line. make sure that ur fluid is where it should be as well. if u don't know where it is. its on the bike of the bike under the plastic about the bake line. just followed the bake line and u can find it. if that don't work there make be other things going on. but i would check that 1st.
