Are you keeping that "Red" Vac cap on the carb vent line while running, this will cause fuel starvation. Its the vent for the carb so the fuel can displace the air in the carb and to drain any overflows.

After a carb fix on my 93 I went out for a test ride and she started to die at 100 on the way home, pulled over and it would start then started but struggled, found the ziptie keeping my secondary fuel filter was pinching the vent line so when I drained the fuel bowls they had a hard time refilling.

What kind of fuel flow are you able to see on the output of your secondary filter? I might put a couple drain lines on the float bowls and open them up to be sure the petcock and filter are allowing enough flow for anything greater then idle.

Bingo!.....give that man ^ a "see gar".....no brainer .....vent rail must *always* be open to atmosphere, whether using vent hose or running without

That was my issue... she runs perfect all the way out. Thank you all for bearing with me, being patience, not lashing out at my ignorance lol

This last time I had the carbs apart to put stock jets and needles in i forgot it was suppose to be left open.. so i capped it

Now to get my steering straight and she'll be all set
Thank you all again! Great forum
