Rear Shock From ZR7S

Hello,

Yesterday my fork dampening went completely. So after a very low speed bumpy ride limping it home, I will be doing the racetech fork upgrades sooner than anticipated.

To match the rear, I was think about a zr7s shock. I am about 135 without gear, so I wasn't sure this was the best spring rate for me. Any suggestions on the best budget (<$200USD) shock upgrade? I would prefer to replace the shock instead of a respring as I don't trust the dampener there either.

Thanks!

Keith

I believe the ZR-7S shock is sprung too stiffly for you. Look into a Ninja 300 shock, as they are basically dirt cheap. At 135, even a low mile gen1 Ninja 250 shock might work.

I looked into the 300 shocks. Definitely cheap for a practically new shock.

I checked the wiki and it says the shock is good for someone around 230lb. Can you confirm? That seems a little stiff. Of course stiffer is what I am after as the stock shock seems too floaty.

I am also looking at the intiminators as opposed to the racetech valves. For $50 more I've read here they perform better.
