Virgin in a crate

That's right, along with my record breaking high mileage engine, I now have the record breaking low mileage engine.
Zero miles. This is in fact a never been used EX engine.
More pics to follow after I get it out of the crate and on the display rack.

: grin2:

The timing was incredible. It came to light about 3 weeks ago. While looking on ebay for a factory service manual for another site member, it just popped up.

Don't think I wasn't skeptical, I was. I couldn't believe it. I had a hard time sleeping for a few nights. It was about 3 weeks away from auction, and I just took a gamble and did the buy now. Couldn't risk loosing it at auction if it was real. Never 100% believed it to be real until I saw it in person.

@ZeroFret
You were the one I was looking for the manual for.
I owe you big time, don't let me forget it!

Sometimes when you go out of your way to help somebody, you stumble onto good fortune on the path.
That's awesome.

Not going to be as easy as I was thinking to put it on a display stand.

Initially I thought I could run rods through the motor mounts, and run them out far enough to clear the engine to where I could stick the rods into wooden legs. But the rods are too weak and the engine is too heavy, it will bend the rods.

The "legs" would have to connect to the rods right next to the motor mounts. They would have to be no larger than 1 1/8" in diameter to clear the engine. So now wood is out. The back side will be the easiest, just need aprox 6" legs to go straight down. But the front is going to have to go a couple of inches forward before going down, to clear everything. Then they will need to be connected along the bottom for stability.

At first read I though this was some sort of sci-fi sacrifice joke. Nice find.

Rust Report

The only rust, at least on the outside is on the 4 exhaust studs. One little dot on each of the ends. So minimal I cant get it to show up in a picture. The threads are all completely clean.

The only other rust is on the under side of the shifter shaft.

All in all, very impressive.

#1 piston

#2 piston

I tried to put a little mirror on the end of the snake cam, to get a shot of the valves. The mirror wasn't little enough.

An outside shot of the water pipes, along with the reed valves.

I know nobody likes the reed valves, but these looked so good I couldn't resist.

Rust report part2

Snake cam

Inside the water pipes not looking good at all.

Going in to the head looking good. What rust is showing up is what dropped out of the water pipes when I removed them. What is left in them now, is probably about 2% of what was in there before I figured out how to clean them out.
