I've been lurking for a spell figured I'd get active . This forum has been more than helpful to me in the last 6 months. Ducati man was my first stop and last to my carb issues Gordan is the man ,and some searching here solved the rest . Got back into riding this past summer damn kids lol. They all flew the nest so a bike seemed logical to me . I never thought I'd find a forum with this amount of knowledge. I didn't seem to figure out how to add location to my profile so I'm from western ny snowbelt area ,and am looking forward to being actively involved where any knowledge I have may be pertinent. Thnxs Brian

Welcome to the forum!

Where abouts in the western NY area? I was raised in East Aurora. In Tampa now and have ZERO intention of ever going back! Now, when it goes below 60 degrees, I'm frozen. Ha!

Thanks bpe it's having a little cosmetic surgery this winter cause of a fawn darting out of a ditch trying to find momma.

S#@w and D%!r are both 4-letter words in my book. Just a couple of weeks ago, I had (big) momma deer run right out of the woods and across the road in front of me without looking. I had to haul on the brakes big time to avoid hitting her, and then only just....I could see the whites of her eyes. We'd have both regretted that collision, giving the fact that I was on the Goldwing....over 1000lbs (with rider) honking along at 50mph.

Ya the little fawn didn't fair to well me either as far as that goes lol. Was putting around about 60 . Don't know how fast I was when I smoked her locked up front and back . Upper fairings got about 6 crack and a few small pieces missing. That was it for the bike was still rideable. Broke my leg in 3 spots and shattered my big toe . Was still sitting on the bike when the ambulance showed up . Couldn't get off at that point lol . Gives me something to do as I heal.

Used to ride a lot in that area back in the day! Also, went to the Thunder in the Valley in Johnstown, PA for many years. That was always a good time.

Glad to have you here on this forum! Great riders here that know these EX 500's inside and out. They won't steer you wrong, trust me!
