Problems in new areas

I am having the time of my life on race weekends and a lot of fun in between.
Thought I had my first legitimate top 10 in a field of 20+ bikes but someone wasn’t running a lap timer so I got 11th in the official score. I am happy nonetheless.
In 500 production cup I am coming in 4th/5th. I’ve cut my times down to within a couple of seconds of the leaders but as I close in they have a little bit more speed that I haven’t found yet. I did qualify 4th for Saturday’s race but I marked the wrong grid position on my tank and got sent to the back. Came in 5th right on the heels of 3rd and 4th. Won’t make that mistake again.
Staring to feel the flex problems with the EX so I’m looking for some new motor mounts and I remember someone saying some about captive bolts that help with that.

If you have a chance to go club racing (or even a track day)with one of these bikes I highly recommend that you do. The EX is inexpensive, easy to work on and doesn’t take much to be competitive. Besides there is this great forum full of helpful people and information.
People say racing is dangerous. It is and should not be taken lightly, but...
On the track no one is texting, or talking on the phone. Everyone is moving in the same direction with the same purpose and you will get to know the largest group of friends you will ever have in your life.

Plus:
Anyone allowed on the track has demonstrated at least a minimum level of competence.
Trained medical personnel will be at the scene almost instantly when or if things go horribly wrong.
None of the other vehicles you are mixing it up with are cars.
The corner crew will give you a heads up if there is an incident on the track ahead around the next bend.
Plus 1 on the friendship. Fellow racers will give you the shirt off their backs to make sure you make it to pre-grid ready to go racing. (And then they will race you hard even its only for 15th place!) Glad to hear you are having a great time. (And don't forget to buy your corner workers and E-crew a beer after the racing day is done. There's nothing they like better than an opportunity to talk racing with a racer, cold one in hand. Without them there would be no amateur racing.)
