Lightbulb Loud muffler

Does anyone have any idea what kind of muffler is on this 500 pipe?
It is very loud, does it look like it will be enough pipe to cut and install a better one?

You're being generous when you call that "welded"

No idea what junk that is, but I'd wager a bet at some sort of aftermarket cherry bomb style pipe meant for a car.

Man, that's ugly but if the OP has the patience to carefully grind off the so-called weld closest to the front of the bike, there's a good chance he'll find the back few inches of the original pipe hidden inside the "adapter" from Pep Boys. Worth a try before getting out the hacksaw because EX pipes are expensive.

How much pipe will i need to be able to keep the old pipes?
Is there a certain length i need?

Header is most likely OK. You’ll need about 30cm from hanger (rear pegs) to clamp. Use grinder to remove weld from top down, will most likely come apart before you reach tubing.
