Keys

Hey,
Made a page called Key Replacement.
Here is a link:
https://www.ex-500.com/wiki/index.php/Key_Replacement
Here is the contents:

"So, you've lost your keys and are considering slamming a screw driver down that ignition or simply want a few spares made up before you lose that last key. Your in the right place. Here we will discuss your options for replacing your lost keys.

KEY BLANKS: All year ex-500's use the same key blank, part number : 27008-1173. This blank can be found in the fiche and is available as cheap as $8 online and $12-$14 from your local Kawasaki dealer. This part number is for the OEM KAWASAKI KEY BLANK (Original key that came with your bike.)
There are after market key blanks available ranging from $2-$5 dollars. Your local locksmith will stock these keys. They may differ in length or design from your stock key.

KEY COPIES: Now you have your blanks, what do you do?
If you have an original key to copy, you can go to any local locksmith and have the copies cut for between $2-$4 per key.
If you have no keys at all then you have a few options:
1. There is a security code located behind your helmet lock that can allow a locksmith to cut a key for you. The locksmith can look up this code to get the correct keying for your bike. ~$10
2. You can remove the ignition from your motorcycle and bring it into a locksmith. The locksmith then can make a key from scratch by feeling out the pinning on the inside of the lock. ~$20-$30
3. There is a third option which I would not recommend because it is so expensive but if you are unable for whatever reason to complete options 1 or 2 you can have a locksmith come out onsite. ~$130-$150
"

I dont know how to like add this page even though it exists so whoever wants to do that and provide some pictures of the code or whatever can do that too.

Re: Keys

Put this up under reference. Feel free to do whatever with it but it gets asked a lot so i thought it would be useful.

Re: Keys

Is the number between the frame and the lock? How do you remove the lock without the key?

One of my kids found my key and ran off with it. She is only 16 months, so she isn't telling me where it is.

Thanks,
