Carb Compatibility?

So I am looking to replace my old 1988 carbs for a nice performance set. Can they be replaced with the zx-6 carburator?

Re: Carb Compatibility?

I didnt realize they were smaller. I would like slightly larger ones, but I dont know what fits the engine...if it even matters.

call or email these guys.....http://www.sudco.com/Carburetor01.html

they have listed an EX500 Keihin application in the past

Re: Carb Compatibility?

Probably somthing like 28mm but it all depends on what you want. I believe Kawasaki selected the Carb size for optimum preformance at full throttle as oposed to best all around driveability.
No I never tried smaller carbs.

...as it was/is against supersport rules to modify them.

They are 469 for the set...not including the extra sized jets.

Re: Carb Compatibility?

not too bad, actually. Ducati 900 41mm kits sell close to $900

still more than many folks paid for their EX's.

You must weigh gains vs $$$ expense

I know the Duc guys swear by the 41mm Keihin CR's....."best performance bang for the buck"
worth it on EX? Dunno....anybody?

Re: Carb Compatibility?

Like I said, the EX is overcarbureted as it is bigger one won't help it.

Re: Carb Compatibility?

41's are being used on Ducati's.... 33's on EX's.
