Mini test

How different chemicals , do or dont do harm to o ring. Im writting this on forum in my country so Ill share also here.

First test was cerosene and axel sgrasso (domestic awesome degreaser)

Some claimed that axel is nasty to rubber and o ring so I tested it. Testing is simple, not too much scientific or anything. Put o rings to cup, bath in those chemicals for more than 24h, and inspect.

After more than 24h

Nothing happened . BUSTED

Today Im trying brake cleaner and carb cleaner. I suspect that carb cleaner will do something. Damage or rubber will increase in size etc. Think that brake cleaner wont do any harm.

Next will be gasoline and wd 40. If gasolene/petrol dont do any harm, I think there is no need to test diesel fuel, since its good for cleaning chain just like kerosene.

Tomorrow Ill see what happened to rings.

I'd be curious to see what the results are like if the test was expanded to 2-3 days, or even longer.

No need for that cuz when you clean the chain you wash it up with kerosene, diesel etc and o ring dont bath in those chemicals. But ofc you shouldnt use carb cleaner for cleaning chain ofc.
