Red face Mind your Health

Not looking for sympathy, just saying: I'm 82 and work hard at physical condition. I'm often envied by my younger friends.
OK that said Last Wednesday 9/11 after my mourning three mile walk (but not because of it) I had a heart attack. I was lucky to be at home and the EMTs got there in jig time (prolly saved my life) Turns out one of my arteries decided to plug. Bad news. Cudo's to the Medi facilities here in MT Home AR. From the time of the first 911 call to laying on a bed in recovery with 2 stents 1 1/2 hs.

I'm perfectly fine and back at my regular routine albeit with a new pill.

So if your say 50ish schedule a Angiogram, Dr said my 2 stent are now almost a walk in job with not trauma.

I hate PMs if you want to contact me, find my email address.Look in the for sale section.

I'm so glad to hear you are doing ok! I should heed your advice. I'm "riding without a helmet" health-wise--nearly fifty and haven't been to the doc in ages.

Holy chit, FOG!!!

Glad you're OK but man, that had to be more frightening than any track day you've ever ridden!

Take it easy and don't over-do things!

Good to hear you're doing good.

Both my Mum (82) and my dad (85) had the same issue and procedure as you over the past two years & even living 100 miles from the hospital, were both stented and in recovery with no tissue damage within 5 hours. Both healthy and active people/good diet, non drinkers etc, so yeah, health checks are important.

Thank God! Sometimes, these things are the best that could happen, as they may prevent something far worse.

I finally figured out why I like Ducatis: With their exhaust note and dry clutch, they sound almost like a Guzzi!

I'll echo ducatiman's comment. Glad you are well. Also, that you continue to take your health seriously and exercise regularly. Probably saved your life as much as the EMTs and the stents.

I consider myself lucky. I'm 53 (since last week Tuesday) and both in good health and in a regular check up routine. Not just because I want to, but because the VA is set up that way.

Getting to a doctor on a regular basis will help with monitoring cholesterol and body fat (liver) as well as blood work and urine samples to keep track of things like blood sugar levels and enzymes from liver and kidney functions.

Once again FOG, glad to hear you're alive and well enough to let us all know.....sean
