Sorry to beat a dead horse ...but, I read most of the threads about the mod and the reference to the 2nd gen. confusing.If the 1st gen is 21-22 inches long and you cut 5 inches from it you leave about 16 inches. My 2nd gen. is 17 inches long with a 4 inch spacer. The threads say cut 5 inches off 2nd gen also, this leaves 12 inches vs the 16 of 1st gen. How would these have the same results? It seems you would only cut 1 or 2 inches off to get the same spring rate, and cut spacer 5 - 6 inches.I have every thing apart and ready to cut. It seems that a final length of 15 inches is desired despite the starting length.Would this be correct in the general sense of things? My grinder awaits.
