Also, about this specific bike - sorry to ask again, but these suspicious bikes keep popping up!

I found a 2006 with 800 miles on it for $3800. The guy says that 20 miles have been put on it in the last year (since 12/05). The bike is in perfect shape, and starts fine. Sounds to me like gummed up carbs or rusty tank is a possibility. If that is the case, is this a decent deal? I think its not a bad deal as long as the tank isn't too rusty. I have some experience restoring motorcycles, so the carbs don't worry me too much.

Will this bike depreciate in value quickly after I put some miles on it?

I wouldn't suspect rust in the tank, the bike doesn't sound like it's been sitting long enough. Sounds like a decent deal to me if everything is in place?

I believe it is the original owner. I am going to offer $3600. I don't need a brand new bike or one that is close to brand new, so no reason to pay more than I am willing to.
