what all would it take to put a newer fairing on a 93 500? other than the headlight being different, does it pretty much just bolt right up?

They seem to be totally different, but I've never tried.

Well, at least removing a fairing is simple & quick.
So if you get an old & new one side by side try it.

And take pictures, please.

You will need a fairing, a fairing tree (bracket), an instrument cluster, a headlight, a windshield, mirrors, filler pieces down the sides, I know I am forgetting something....
You could probably buy a used '94 for what you pay for this stuff from a dealer.

You will need the headlight, headlight frame and possibly the instrument cluster (mirrors too if you need'em). If you wanted to go all out you have to get the inserts for the sides of the cluster.
