it seems to work for me, but anyway, the mod is looping the larger vacuum hoses, plugging the large vacum hose in the middle of the airbox in the front, and plugging off the vac hose on the right carb, and also plugging the hole for the hose on the vacum canister, leaving room for a fuel filter in the middle, this also is suppossed to stop the popping noise, figured while i've got everything apart i'd find out if its alright to do both mods , or just the one

It'll be fine, Those things are two seperate Items the removing of those fresh air pipes relates to the exhaust. and has no effect on the intake side.

If you have popping, spikezx5r told me to get rid of all that emissions junk, and just loop a single hose from one cylinder head to the next (and plug the hole coming out of the airbox). That got rid of all the popping on my bike, but I have an aftermarket exhaust.
