Hey guys,

I'm trying to get into the motovlogger scene/fad that's going around. It's a good bit of fun and is actually enjoyable to do. Just wanted to share my first video with anyone interested. It's pretty bad (IMO) but I'm still new to the game. Any criticism is accepted, I would like to know where I could improve. Thanks a lot!

Watched and subscribed! Think you did good, like camera angle.
Thanks for the sub! My first video I did with the gopro software, I switched over to Vegas and it's a MUCH better program. I'll have my second vid up soon and the quality is already infinitely better (other than a bit more wind noise - higher speeds on the highway)

I watched half of it but I'm too tired to do anything else tonight lol. I'd say try to make it shorter. 20 mins is a long time to keep a youtuber's attention. I like 8 mins as a sweet spot.

Camera and audio is good. Gopro? I have an off brand camera and my audio sucks at high speed. Like terribly. So it limits my vlogs.

Yessir. Gopro Hero 4 Silver. After my first vlog I realized it was way too long. My second video is up now and it's much shorter/faster.
The audio quality is phenomenal, to the point which it is too good. I keep moving my microphone around my helmet to try to minimalism it picking up my breathing.

I was thinking about this today. How does your camera attach to a microphone?

I was reading about these http://www.amazon.com/dp/B002HJ9PTO/?tag=abonyt-20

It's supposedly one of the best bang for your buck microphones for vlogging.. I may give it a try in the future when my cheap one dies.

A quality mic goes a long way.

I plug in the mic via the 3.5 mm port. I was taking a look at that... and am seriously considering it. I don't have the cash at the moment, but i might grab one of those in the near future. it sounds good to me... are you going to get one soon?

I might order one next Friday when I get paid. The only thing that concerns me about it is the amount of cord + the part the battery plugs in to.. It was hard enough fishing the wire from my current mic through my helmet, let alone one that has an external battery source.. but I could probably find some way to mount it to the side or whatnot.

Something tells me that it is not waterproof. you will want it inside the helmet. This will just take some thinking. yes, the cord is very long. and that battery pack might be a pain. i guess it comes down to how much room you have in your helmet. remember, you will need to be able to reach the battery pack, to change it and to turn the thing on and off.

If you get it, I will wait and see how it goes for you.

Yeah, I didn't think about the waterproof aspect. I'll keep you posted on what I decide. It supposedly has like ~20 hours of use from one battery, so that is concerning too.. But if the quality of it is great, it is probably worth the trade off.

If you know how to solder, you may cut the wire you do not need and effectively have the perfect length wire for your preference. That is what I would do... The extra wire is a danger IMO, and it looks much cleaner all soldered up and covered with heat shrink.

I'll give it a test run on one of my cheap mics
