Worked out ok, but a full test ride (when weather allows) will be needed to fully determine. Instant startup, perfect idle speed 1100 RPM, perfect synch after tweaking both cylinders CO to 5%, possibly exhibiting freer revving to high RPM too. The exhaust reading tool I made worked out fully operational, easily worth the effort. Results of a full test ride should reveal if my desires (smooth, controlled low RPM speed and on/off throttle) have actually been achieved. Here's hopin'.
1st 50 mile ride of the year on subject bike today revealed ALL expectations have been fully realized. SS800 does all its relied on to do, idle to redline....and more, its major tune is now DONE. Yearly oil/filer change is next up....on all 3 actually, as I wake each from winter slumber!
Felt great to finally get out there! Visited 3 local beaches. At end of ride, filled up gas, and added Stabil 360.

I used an ethanol treatment for sitting for the winter. Is that stabil 360 suggested to add when I put my gas back in the tank when I get it back from paint and reassemble?
^ IMHO......why not? Besides stabilization over winter, it is also a fuel system cleaner, fights results of ethanol, blah blah. AND has a special Vapor Action.....below clipped from their website.....

"The only fuel treatment to emit a revolutionary vapor technology that rises above the fuel line to protect your engine where others before it can’t. Use it with every fill up to help keep your engine running cleaner, leaner, smoother and stronger than ever.

Just a 1/2 oz with a fill up. It'll keep them pilot jets clear and clean, fo' sure, injection innards too.
Well coming from the carb god I take that as straight gospel and will make sure I follow that then. I'm pretty sure the treatment pre winter was also by stabil but I can't remember if that was for sure the one I had grabbed that day or not.
suggest 360 Marine.....this is the poop here.......
Liquid Bottle Fluid Personal care Rectangle

yeah Stabil 360 is a marine product as in water and condensation everywhere, seeing as how water attracted Ethanol is in the fuel is the issue no reason not to use it. we (as in over here) the only place to get it is at a marina. so my alternative is Wynns petrol treatment does the same thing and keeps the jets spotless.
after my latest full "injection service" success (on a confirmed clean system) I'll never go without a tank, or surely a winter without it. How many carbs that I do could be actually be delayed for needing service? Sure is easier to dump 1/2 oz of additive into the tank, no? I'm a confirmed proponent of 360, have been a long time.
So I started running strictly high grade. Which is usually I think 91 or 93 non ethanol possibly 95. But honestly I don't look at the number as much as make sure it's the best of the 3 at the pump and non ethanol. Any recommendations for or against it? And same additives?

Feels good, doesn't it? I also took the Bandit out for the first time, a very short run to assess it's condition. It was great to be back out in the wind again.

I agree with you, something is better than nothing. I was just pointing out that Stabil 360 is not wildly available everywhere as it's essentially a US product you can get it here but only at a marina or yacht chandlers, but when you don't have so much as a boating lake within 50 miles it's not so easy to get.
Clive (uk member) uses Redex in every tank full with great success. I use Wynns instead keeps all the fuel bits cleaner.
although I must point out until recently all our fuel was ethanol free now they put 5% in all grades lower than premium (94 ron) which I tend to use in the bike so Ethanol isn't an issue but a little additive does stop the fuel going stale during the winter lay up period. TBH though the best idea for the EX is run it everyday and not let it stand so long.

2nd 50 mile ride this morning....presently draining oil on the SS

I use Stabil 360 with a little 2 stroke oil added too. Bike sat this year longer than I ever planned it to sit. Thank fully I do run it in every tank when I am done with the ride. Example, might ride a 400 mile ride at the end of the trip that fill up get the 360 added on that tank on the way home. I also use 2X the amount for a 10 gallon quantity. Anyway bike started flawlessly after sitting this year for 5 months, as iI was not planning on getting sick and not being able to even get out to the garage. I started doing this back in 2017 when I started driving a semi over the road and had no idea when I would get home next. It has worked for me, in an unconditional good way.

yeah mine has been stood since the end of October due to leaking roof problems and the garage has not been a nice place to be over winter I had intended to get the gen 1 out last weekend but it rained. there more moisture in there than Lake Mead just now so it will have to wait a bit more until it dries out.

Very amazing looking. I like the carbon fiber appearance of it. I need to redo my seat because of a bit of a small patch in the middle and it sticks out horribly. How did you manage to recieve the seat from him and all that?

Well, thank you. I got the carbon look vinyl from a fabric store my wife frequents. I go in and see what they have vinyl remnants and buy those. It’s quite thick and was listed as a marine grade vinyl. I’ve been back but not seen any more of it. It’s the 3rd seat I’ve done for him with the same vinyl….and now I’m out.

As far as receiving the seat from him….we don’t live all that far apart. Maybe a 45 minute ride without traffic…..nearer an hour and a half with. He was on his way to Sacramento one Saturday and dropped it off. I finished it up a week or 2 later and he dropped by and picked it up on his way home from somewhere on this side of the Bay Area.

Oh that's awesome. Yeah I'm from th east side so I suppose that wouldn't work. I'll have to try Nd look around for some of that print. And maybe try reupholstery myself or something. Running out of random tasks to finish before i get my stuff back.

Side note. Today i went to local moto store...mostly ATV and mtx apparently...but sell the newer kawasaki Suzuki also...well anyway went to have a key copied and I happened to catch a glimpse of maxima chain wax and the cleaner...plus a grunge brush. So I picked it up due to a YouTube video where this guy had 54 different products that are commonly used for chain lubrication...anything from lubes to waxes to dry lubes to chain saw lubes to wd40...so a whole large assortment of some great products. So i came acrossed it when looking for bad reviews for maxima chain wax so i could make a final decision...the entire video is worth a watch and I found for overall it wasnt the very top but was certainly one of the very highest in almost every test done...and it's supposed to keep fling to a minimum but all the more important areas it scored really high as well.
So anybody else use maxima chain wax before or currently and what do yous think?

That cleaner is the cleaner I use, but the wax I stopped using it personally for regular ride maintenance but use it for storage and use Motul Chain Lube for ride lubes.
I keep coming up short handed on options...anybody know about descent aftermarket Foot Pegs for front and or rear. Or options of other models that may fit. I know theres some old threads about gen 1 250 rear pegs for 500 gen 2 front with slight modification but meh. Any help with answers would be much appreciated
