I'm considering a set of bar risers from Motorcycle Larry. Current owner used them briefly but removed them as he thought they made the front end seem lighter. (But he admits he pushes it pretty hard.)

His bike is an '06 with the 17" wheel. Mine's a '92 with 16". Anyone have any experience with how risers might effect handling with the smaller wheel? FYI - I'm small-ish (5' 6", 160 lbs.) and a relatively conservative rider.

Experience? Thoughts? Thanks!

The only effect would be in your head.

Go for them. I have a set on my '03. Easier riding position and it doesn't affect handling at all.

Your lowerback will thank you, you'll be able to handle the bike longer ;)

Depends on your back. I can't stand riding too long if I'm too upright, your back wasn't designed to be straight but hunched over a bit. BMW F800S with clipons feels very relaxed, F800ST with 2" higher and closer bars, not so good.

I should mention I'm close to Cro-Magnon in design.

That's funny.
Did you get a part in that new TV show about those cro-magnon guys from the commercials?
