First post, let me know if I messed anything up lol,
After scavenging the classifieds and web to find a 2-1 exhaust and seeing nothing used and not wanting to spend 550$+ on a delkevic system I decided to make my own, I went with a yoshimura rs-3 pipe that I found for 60$! And with about 30$ in exhaust pipe from crappy tire I created this, please feel free to let me know if there's any improvements you think would help, I wasn't concerned to much about performance just didn't like the look of dual pipes especially on a small cc 2 cyl.... and yes yes I know the welds look like crap I did it outside on a windy day so my shielding gas wasnt to effective. Would be open to making more if ppl are interested, this is just a "prototype" future ones would be made of stainless steel.

Yeah, certainly doesn’t look as bad as you described. You described the tubing as being from “crappy tire”…..was that some sort of auto-correct or slang for someplace we all know but don’t refer to it as that?

Well thank you!! It's that cheap aluminized steel tubing from Canadian tire, I guess thats a local term lol, I sanded the tubing with 80grit and worked my way up to 600 to try and give it a better finish, debating if I should paint it

With such large diameter tubing, you will need some back pressure to avoid losing HP. The can is probably designed for 750-1000cc, so the 500 creates only a breeze through it. Maybe fab up a full length baffle? As to the head pipes, could polish the heck out of them and "try" some hi-temp clear. Will probably have to re-do that regularly though.

I'm glad you brought that up it was one of the main things I was wondering, the muffler has a 1.5" db killer in the end its about 6" long that takes some noise out and I assume add some back pressure i added some mesh in the bottom to help Aswell. Also the stock system is dual 1.5" pipes so if I remember correctly would 2" not be technically less volume then the stock?

It is really hard to beat the OEM system, stuffed up as it is, for all around power and torque. Find a cheap way to add some back pressure and do some testing. These engines like some back pressure.

Thank you for explaining that. I will say after some tests with and without the yoshi "low volume insert" the first ride with it in was smooth not to different from stock, second ride with it out I could notice a difference... seemed to lack down in the lower rpms. With matches what you said about back pressure. I'm not to concerned with power at the end of the day if I wanted to go faster I'd buy a bigger bike my motivation was mainly to mask some of the "noise" these engines make. The 500s seem to be the old diesels of the ex world haha
