So, the good ol engine qestion.

Diagnosis....Sparatic Idleing/flat spots.

Cure: Here is what i have done.....

First off this bike has no airbox (duh i know....but bare with me)

I understand that it will continue to have flat spots until i get the airbox back in and yada yada with the pilot screws, but please tell me why its ideling crazily.

Ive cleaned the carbs, and have done a valve job, and this thing will start up and rev from 1k-7k. It only runs with choke usually and it just seems to lose control and start winding out without any throttle given to it.....yeah the idle control is turned down....the pliot scres are set at 2.5 turns. Any ideas?

It sounds like 1 or both of your pilot jets are plugged. The engine is struggling to draw fuel through the main jet. and at this slow airspeed across the bridge the flow is intermittant.

Pull the carbs and pull the pilots out and be sure you can see through them.
