my 90 ex500 runs lilke a dream but has died on me at lights 3 times.
all times after a highway run with a steady 5000-6000 rpms
it feels like the idle gets too low when or the mix is too lean. the motor wil stay on if i rev it with the throttle.

bike is jetted and has exhaust.

could it be the idle setting or just bad gas?

carbs dirty maybe?

FOG what you think?

Stuck float/s Float level too high. or leaky float valves. The engine is being fed more fuel that it needs. so it's too rich not too lean. When you open the throttle you allow more air in so it runs better.

Fit a piece of clear tygon tubing to the drain on the float bowl and run it up along side the carb open the drain screw and observe the fuel level. With the bike upright the level should be at or slightly below the bowl split line of the carb.
Th change it you must remove the carbs.
