how do yall do the eleminator w/o cutting up the stock part? just remove the entire peice with the fender well shield?

to those that just remove all that..do you have any issues with additional water and crap getting up under the seat and around the battery and that mess? my tools and stuff already get wet..i couldent imagine how bad it would be throwing all that water up there.
