Been think about doing a little racing again for fun so did the $ math....in Fla CCS is really the only choice and current rules state you must take riding school if no racing lic in the last 5 years, 10 yrs its been, so $150 for race school, kinda embarrassing after 5 years of Expert racing, several Championships and a Top 10 tag, they gonna make me wear the orange safety vest on top of the yellow tag....?!? can't wait.
Anywho, add $115 for a years license + $75 for your 1st race and we are at $340....for 1 race.
If i do U-LtWtSuperBike and LtWt Formula-40 for a season (11 races in Fla region + Daytona) its $75 for 1st race + $50 for 2nd, so $125 x11 races=$1375 + Daytona @ $130/$90 per race, $220, =$1595 +lic+RaceSchool = $1860 for a 2 race season not includ race gas, TIRES! and travel, etc. Or $340 for 1 race....or somewhere in between. Tracks would be Jennings GP, Moroso MSP, Homestead, and Daytona.
And yes they have track days at Jennings GP but not a big fan of being out on the track with, hmmm what a nice way to say it, riders with various skill levels on 1 liter bikes playing Mick Doohan around me.

The other PITA is the track distance from my house:

Daytona 178m
W Palm 217m
Jennings 243m
Homestead 274

all 1 way so double for the drive home...

On the plus side in the early '90's CCS contingency money in Lt Wt was some SBS brake pads and a $25 Metzler certificate.
Now if i run UltraLtWtSuperBike and LtWt-F-40 I can sign up with Bridgestone ($150/1st), or Michelin ($100Ex1st/$60AM1st), Pirelli $100, Dunlop $60
+ Vp fuels, Powerstands, and AGV.
Take the last 3 plus Bridgestone and you make $325 for 1st, $210-2nd, $165-3rd, Ex or Am, available for both races minus the Vp Fuels ($25 1 race only)
So $325+$300=$625 in $ and certificates for winning 2 LtWt Am races......SWEET!!!

Damn!
Those are some good payouts for a little bike class!
The AFM doesn't have **** for payouts in 500 Twins, all the other classes have good contingency support, even the 250 production class, but not 500's.
