Hi everyone. I gave a look on the forum and I found a couple of threads about leaking gas caps, but I'm not sure my issue is the same. Many said the gasket was gone, others recommended to check the breathing line.
Basically, I noticed I only got this problem a couple of times, both of them with two specific conditions: hot temperature and full tank.
If you look carefully, this is what happens after a short ride. Nothing terrible, the bike runs great, but I want to make sure it is not a big deal, or, at least, if it is an easy fix.

hi, this can happen if you have removed the two orange flap valves in the cap (it's what they are there to prevent) of course it's an either or situation leave them in and risk venting/vacuum in the tank issues or remove them and risk leaking at the cap issues, I have the same issue as you. solution is to not fill the tank so full on hot days just leave a decent air gap below the cap.
PS. it will also do this if the bike is laid down fuel leaks from the filler cap.

Uhm I don't know if the valves you're talking about have been removed, because I recently replaced the tank and all the stuff related to it. Got a '94 from ebay in good conditions. Anyways, if you say it won't be a big deal I'll keep it like that. I already untied the cap bolts to let it breath a couple of months ago, I should be fine now. I'm not planning to drop the bike, so I'll only have to be careful to the fuel level. Thank you for you answer!

the only way to find out is look, they could have been removed by a PO of the tank, or the flaps have become hard and no longer work. either way it's not a problem I always leave a 2in (50mm) air gap above the fuel when filling the tank, it doesn't reduce the total mileage on a tank full by very much (and there is always) a fuel station somewhere on route to put some more in if required on a long run.
