What would you pay for a running engine from an 87' with 21,000 miles? The guy wants $400 (CDN), I figured $200 is a reasonable price but $400 too high. Your thoughts?

Well it depends, does it come with three one-hundred dollar bills?
But yeah, to me, 400 sounds high... then again, what do I know?

Isn't that like $1.50 in US? ;D

Yea that is too much for a engine. I have been watching ebay and they seem to be a little pricey there as well, plus add in the cost of shipping. Craigslist has had them in my area for cheap before but it isn't something you see often.

I sold two Ninja 500 engines in the past 6 month.
1st one was from a 2001 500R with 670 miles, that sold for $560
2nd one from 2000 500R with 1300 miles, that one went for $500

That guy is def. asking too high. I just sold a 96 Katana 600 engine that turned for $125, but i don't like to sit on parts and i part bikes fast.
I might be selling a 3rd 500R engine soon from a 97 with 4600 miles for around $450.
