I went to the hospital after my groin took 99% of the crash (gas tank airbags please?). They discharged me with an order to suck down the pain killers. Sadly, my ninja is probably totalled. It was belching gasoline onto the road when I left it.

I'll have a video back up once all the legal stuff is done and over with.

From the vid I was able to pick out Marysville from the bus and the area code off the Ford Econline airport type transit vehicle right behind it... I assume being in Seattle, stupid people jump yield type green lights and cut left into oncoming traffic because of their "awesome" coffee?

You had the green... BUT you jumped the throttle and excelerated a bit hard expecting to go somewhere...
I heard acceleration with no attempt to slow even after you saw the first car jump the yield.
The dumb ***** behind that first car was too busy doing whatever to notice oncoming traffic and you expected traffic to yield to you even though you had the right of way.

Your fault for assuming and her fault for not yielding.... you are, by a legal defintion, entiled to full compensation.

IMO you took off too hard in an urban setting and you should've been grabbing brake and clutch as soon as you saw the first car turn yet you kept on the throttle...
Defensive fail.

As far as the bike being totalled... matter of opinion. Insurance, maybe... actually totaled, technically... but
Buy it back from insurance check for cheap, use this group to source parts, use me to repair your busted fairings and repaint them... it's not as "totaled" as the insurance company thinks and members are willing to help. Look in the "For Sale" section here. A PM or two to Saabnut and other folks and you'd be surprised what parts could be had for cheap.
Do the work yourself and you still have a great bike.
Just an option IMO though.
Thought it'd might give you something to do while the feeling comes back to those giggleberries.

Glad you're okay and THAT'S the main thing.
If you weren't okay then you wouldn't be posting here... at least that's the way I see it.

Not to pile on, but I watched the video and had the same reaction to it as OEM. I would have been slowing drastically after the first car pulled out in front of me. Not to mention the fact that its possible the second driver couldn't see the O.P or the traffic light. Is it possible you target fixated on the first car and never saw the second?

I always assume people are sheep... one moves others will follow. Trust no one. I am sorry this happened, and glad you came out of it OK.

No doubt the lady was an idiot for turning without ever looking, as people do this in the city all the time. Just gotta have eyes everywhere tho! Whats the next bike of interest?

There are those not so fortunate as you.. remarkable to even be able to post here, let alone think, move and BREATHE.

You are lucky to be alive, my friend.

I know it's easy to sit back and critique and wasn't trying to be harsh, just pointing out the obvious rider mistake.

ALWAYS have to have eyes everywhere when riding and NEVER assume other drivers see you.
Fact of the matter.... most drivers are just plain stupid and oblivious to anything outside their little bubble and that's why you get cars jumping the yield then everyone right behind them thinking they've got the go ahead.

Hard way to learn a lesson but again, glad you made it through mainly unjured.

Thank you to everyone who expressed concern.. I'm slowly getting back on my feet. A painful lesson indeed.

I reviewed the video frame by frame to see what all got damaged on the bike. The front wheel is bent, the calipers broke off, the front forks are bent, the upper fairing is shattered, windshield is shatter, front fender snapped in half, lower fairing cracked down the middle, and the gas tank ruptured.. That's just the damage I can see from the video. I'll have better details once I can get out and see it.

Unless you have a different vid from what we saw...
Only way to assess damage is go look and pull the thing apart.

You can put back together or part it out.
Buy parts from here and fix or sell its parts.
That simple.

I haven't seen the video, so I can't put on my Monday morning Quarterback hat.

How are you doing now and have you got a good look at the bike? Glad you can still type...
