Just once on a dirt bike. Flew up a hill and jumped right in front of a car (I thought the road was further away). Knocked me on my a$$. Sprained ankle only.

This sucked because I had a brand new 1979 KZ650 that I just bought sitting in the garage just begging to be ridden and I couldn't shift. Doctor said wait two weeks before riding.

Sucked worse because after 1 1/2 weeks I figured I was ready to ride, parents said NO, I got pi$$ed, went to the drags, got a little drunk, and then fell backward down the bleachers when my crutch went between the boards. I stuck my bad foot out behind me to break my fall and injured it even worse than before. Another couple of weeks on crutches!

Never rode dirt bikes after that.

During my first 15 years of riding I crashed a bit. You can get an idea of those crashes on the web page: http://hometown.aol.com/RodneyJ123/TheCrash.html.

During the last 25 or so years of riding I haven't crashed ever and I've been going sooooo much faster that I ever did in my earlier years. Well, except for that time I took off from being parked on a street in Watsonville on my VMax and had forgotten to take off the disc lock. I had gotten about 2 feet, then I was on the ground.

Only once on the street and that was over 2 years ago now. Since then I've gone down 3 times on the track, none of them major, although my last was a highside just over 2 weeks ago. I was able to walk away from it..... well... crawl away from it really. Still recovering a little.

I wiped out on my 73 Yamaha 350 about 16 years ago and I've got road rash to show for it. The bike was fine since it came down mostly on me which was good since I was in the middle of nowhere in the White Mountains of New Hampshire.

Since then no bike crashes thankfully but several plane crashes. One generated a $24,000 day spent at the San Bernadino trauma center.

I've set it down gently before....the only crash my bike has had under my ownship is when my friend crashed it. Going about 30kph in a parking lot, and let the back end slip out when his oafish hands grabbed too much throttle. Slid the bike 30 feet under the back of Cavelier. No damage to him or the car, but scrapped the crap out of my fairing, left handle bar and left exhaust.

11,000 plus miles so far and no crashes. When I go and have a few beers with my dad he always go into the story how he crash his 1st bike in Paris when he was 15 only 10 days after buying it. I was glad to make it past ten days, HOWEVER the bike found its way into the hands of my roommate. An overworked overzealous but still very cool Indian dood. He managed to whack the bike on a curb in a turn by our apartment complex while I was "letting him try out a sport bike" (we bought bikes the same day he went for a vstar 650) ... I almost laughed when I saw him walking the half busted bike back with one blinker on and no headlamp. He was almost in tears and I had to laugh, because of the two, he had WAY more moto experience and was kinda mentoring me. thinking about it I am kinda upset I never took photos because according to him he was slowing down before a turn and must have being coming in too fast, paniced and straighted the bike into the curb at "25 or 30mph" ... the result? Front fairing, toast. Front wheel indented. Front tire toast. Headlamp and blinkers, toast. Forks, questionable. Levers, pegs, center stand one exhaust can... toasted! and with a glorious 600 miles this bike wasn't looking to healthy. Well, $3500 and one month later I was back on the trusty steed! Much thanks to the GF(lady friend at the time) giving me some rides to work and the roommate for putting up the dough to fix it asap. He felt so guilty he didn't even ride his own bike during the month of repairs...

Side note. He's since been nick named ride&slide...

Wait I thought this thread was how many times you crashed your EX500.
Well I crashed my EX500 three times in 2006. Once at Thunderhill, and twice at Sear Pt. Two of those where on the warm up lap so this year I'm buying tire warmers. However for a all time high I crashed my Supermoto racebike 4 times in one day. One lowside, one highside, and two endo's off a table top jump. That was the day I quit racing supermoto!
On the street, well I've crashed every bike I've owned, but I live in the city of San Francisco, and I ride every day.
That increases my %, but in all honesty I do ride aggressively

never crashed my 500 knock on wood. ive had dirt bikes since i was 10, and i cant count how many times ive crashed on those... never crashed on the street though. two close calls. one guy pulled out in front of me, stopped about a foot away from him (and what did he say... of course, "i didnt see you" ) ::)

another one was on my XJ650 when the front brake locked up. was only about a block from home so i turned around and limped it home, and i ended up falling over in the gravel driveway when i was turning in DOH

No crashes yet. (wood knocking) I did drop my first a few times. Forgot to put the kickstand down once. Put my foot in a small pot hole at a stoplight and went over, that sucked. Tried a wheelie once to impress a girlfriend, that turned into a downie; she laughed.

Twice. Smacked into the back of a toyota on the left lane of a Expressway. Ouch. Then I was cut off by a cab but he ran me off the road and I tumbled onto the sidewalk. Double ouch.

They say there are three stages of motorcycling:
Stage 1: Being Scared sh*tless
Stage 2: Feeling like a god
Stage 3: (if you survive stage 2) Learning to be scared sh*tless.

Ride safe.

nearly got hit while going around a corner and some dude on a cell crossed the double yellow, so i straighted the bike up then tried to make the corner and put it down trying to stay on the road. I stayed on the road but the bike didn't
