Sounds good to me Catholic, and BTW... Just checked out the pictures of your bike, and it's looking pretty bad ass. Hows the GSXR shock? I went with a used Ohlins rear shock and hopefully I'm going to try to put the rear end back together this evening.

Hey do any of you have any shops in central Indiana you recommend? (preferrably west side). Not for me but a buddy who got a nail in his tubed tire of his Honda 750.

Dude thanks so much, that sounds like just the deal he's looking for. Hopefulu just a new tube, it was a big ass nail though. I went over to help him patch the tire and then saw the spokes, I was like "uhh yeah you're not gonna be riding that today". Dude loads it onto a trailer, doesn't tie it down correctly, it falls over, he looks back and then slams his 86 3500 into an intrepid in front of him. He's hving a bad week so I'm trying to save him some money haha

^^^ DAMNIT

on a lighter note, the gixxer shock is phenomenal. really feels 10X better. it just amplifies the front suspension, and how crappy it is though. that will be this winter i suppose lol.

cycle re-cycle II is awesome. the guy is pretty helpful, but he can be a real ******* if you dont let him tell YOU what is wrong with your bike lol. anywho, i didnt know that they were that cheap, thats awesome! anywho, best of luck to your friend!

Hahahahaha... He is DEFINITELY an *******. He treats everyone who comes in there like an idiot... I walked in there one day a looking for a set of handlebars, and he started on that high and mighty tone of voice and I just cut him off and told him exactly what I needed and asked him where abouts it was and I would dig through and find it myself. He tossed me a set of crappy plastic calipers and I went scavenging. :)

On the subject of the front suspension... GSXR USD FORKS!!!! DO IT!!! ;D hahaha I considered doing a swap to USD forks, but went another direction. You'll get to check out some of my handy work whenever we meet up for a ride though. ;)

I think he's headed over to cycle recycle II tomorrow. I'll warn him about the customer service. I'm jealous of both your suspensions, I'm still stock in that regard hasn't bothered me yet though... Maybe if I had ridden any other street bike I would realize what i'm missing out on

I've been trying to call Cycle Recycle alllllll day with no luck. Busy signal every time. Any of you have a 1st gen and done the tapered head bearing swap? I'm in DESPERATE NEED of a tapered bearing kit so I can get the front end on. The whole front end is assembled and just waiting to be slipped into place if I could find the kit!

yeah, sorry no dice on the tapered bearing. My buddy called the shop though using the number you listed on here, he said they told him they won't put a new tube in his tire, so we are still looking for a place to do it. Can't imagine why they wouldn't though, according to their site they specialize in vintage bikes, which would be tubed mostly...

Wow that looks way easier than I thought. A bit tedious, but doable. I'm going to suggest to him we go that route. Thanks man.

Yeah, I had company over so I couldn't rude until 11 but I did get about 30 mins in last night. Weathers looking decent today too, I'm regretting not riding the bike into work but hopefully it will still be nice after 6...

gawd i'd love USD forks. HOWEVER, i dunno how much $$ and effort it would be. the gixxer rear was easy actually, just needed to bore out the lower mount.

i hate haveing so much Gixx parts on it, id like to try another SB lol. maybe CBR forks since i have R1 headlights lol?

Just trust me when I say mounting forks from a different bike is not as bad as you might think... ;) ;)

Now the cost of USD forks is a whole different thing, but the owner of Cycle Recycle has a fluid containment belly pan in storage he said he would nab up and sell me for damn cheap and I know he has quite a few sets of USD forks that I could find out how much he would want for a set with the triple. I'm always down to lend a hand if you decide you want to do a fork swap.

Hey guys, busy this weekend and next...mid August might be good to ride or whenever I don't have anything planned. We should set a date and stick with it so we all can plan ahead and get together for a nice ride. What do you say? I'm up for almost any weekend except the next coming which is the 31st.
