I was talking w/ my son (san diego, USMC) about insurance. He said active duty folks & those w/in 2 years after getting out ought to look into USAA insurance (& banking / finance services).

A national consumer's group says most insurance companies price your insurance in part on your CREDIT score. Different companies use different amounts.

"Depending on each insurer’s method of calculating insurance scores, the approximate annual premium for a hypothetical 28-year-old male in Orlando, Fla., who drives a new Toyota Camry can vary from $782 to $4,755."

For THAT hypothetical case in Florida, they listed the premium in 3 categories:

W/O Ins score w/ best score w/ worst score
AIG (Birmingh'm) $1,960 1,589 4,755
All state 1,098 790 1,490
GEIC0 1,142 947 1,468
Lib'y Mutu 1,687 1,410 2,361

Nat'n wide Gnl 1,159 943 1,706
Progrs'v Auto Pr 1,127 782 1,868
Sta Farm 1,251 1,109 2,600
USAA 1,015 1,015 1,336

I don't know how this varies with age, location, type of vehicle & w. multiple/family coverage, but thought it'd be interesting for the group.

March 13 I got the insurance for my '05 "salvage" bike so that I can get it licensed.

I called Progressive Direct (24/7) & could've had basic insurance for $75/yr which is their minimum.

Instead I got full insurance, doubled the medical/insurance, comprehensive & roadside for $145/yr.
I'm in suburban west Omaha, mid '50's, clean record.

I pat 1680 a year for 2 cars and the ex using USAA. I live in central jersey and any other insurance company out there wanted over 3k for the 3 vehicles, full coverage, $50 deductable

The ex cost me $125/yr, but it came with a $150/yr multi car discount so I saved $25 by adding it to the insurance
