just wondering, do you have other bikes besides the EX500?

in a few days or so here, I'm buying a CBR600 F2 to add to having the 500. the CBR will be my daily commuter, but the 500 will be for playing around with, and trackdays.

Yeah, I'll fess up... same as Knightslugger, in silver :)

I still have the EX and love it, it's a great bike - I'll never forget the many miles we did together, and there's something about it that's so motorcycle when compared to the CBR. The CBR is more like riding a UFO, and it tends to make you want to crash it :-*

Ha. Yes, i was too impatient, and just HAD to get a track day in before I got some new tires on there.

I can attest to the fact that they aren't great for the track. I'm sure skill had quite a bit to do with my incident, but different tires probably would've made all the difference. Worse yet, I set pressures to 32/32 in the AM when it was about 55 degrees out, and it was about 75+ degrees when I crashed - I neglected to check my tires all day long, as I was caught up in the excitement and business of a track day. Man, and I ofter check my tires mid-ride on the street...

I just started riding a year ago and based on the info I read on the ex500riders site felt like the Ninja 500 was a good first bike. I'm pretty happy with it over the past year and have put over 2000 miles on it learning how to ride. It's my first and only bike.

Ex(s) for racing only. I have a '04 Speed Triple and a '00 Triumph Legend
ditto the first part... ex for racing, '00 zx6r for street and trackdays. Seriously considering adding a dirty toy to the stable. I went to a Motocross track again today on my friend's CR125... all I can say is, "gahd damn, dat ****'s fun"

And Tom's speed trip is a pit bike whore :D

No, it's not the only bike. My SO and I also have a '98 GS500 (her everyday ride). An '89 Ninja250 that will do double duty. Track and street. My commuter/fun bike is an '01 SV650S. Funny thing is they're all twins. :)

I'm only just beginning to appreciate the twin-ness of twins recently... been out to the track a couple of times, and there's something about a twin hitting the straight that sounds like... a WWI-era barnstormer.

There's few things as cool as a WWI-era barnstorming bike. You guys ever been to a good airshow?

Right now I have the '90 EX parked next to my '81 Kaw KZ550 in my garage. At work I have 3/4 of a '78 Honda 750Four and pretty much a whole '81 Suz GS450 for parts bikes, and also a '99 CBR600f4 with a trashed front end and garbage frame that I haven't decided what to do with yet (yet being about 3 years, give or take  .

Lately I've been giving the KZ all the attention, getting it up to snuff and daily driveable and the EX has basically been sitting, waiting patiently - so I thought. I was hauling my KZ and the EX to our new house, both strapped tight in a covered trailer. I got to the house and both were still standing tall, waiting to be unloaded. After unloading them and moving a bunch of other stuff into the house, I came back outside for some reason. I looked at the KZ and there was a dent in the gas tank, complete with fresh scratches. I then went and examined the EX and found purple paint on the end of the clutch lever. Somehow the EX got free enough to give the KZ a good punch in the tank and then stand right back up like nothing happened. I guess that's what I get for converting the EX into a streetfighter - it really wants to start fights.
