As all here know, I'm generally down on noisy mufflers. This note is only about $. Don't mess up those stock cans, they are worth more as is to sell to people who messed up thier stock cans. Play with one of the other systems you said you have. they are all the same. none will do anything except make a varity of Fart Fart noises.

2nded. Stock exhaust always goes for more than I'd have ever thought (or would pay, that's why I still have old, gutted cans). Gutted cans sound better than stock (to me and everyone who's commented on mine), but I only had the choice of having one mangled, half-gutted can or just gutting them both. If I had nice cans and enough stuff around to make my own exhaust I'd leave the cans alone and start fabbing.

EDIT: Also, read up on adjusting the pilots. You don't need to rejet with a different exhaust, just adjust things back to optimal.

If you can make it fit then it'll do the job. All they're doing is carrying exhaust gas from the header to the atmosphere and diffusing the sound on the way. Where you're going to have problems is if the backpressure is greatly altered. If you greatly increase the backpressure, all other things the same, you're going to be running excessively rich. If you greatly decrease it, you'll go lean. Adjusting the pilots should take care of it.

Chances are, anything else you throw at it is probably going to decrease the backpressure since it's most likely coming from a larger displacement bike. Seeing that I've run mine w/ no mufflers at all before (just in the garage for a few minutes, nothing permanent) I don't foresee it not running at all just because you put on a different pipe.

You may have gathered this from other threads, but we all love to see pictures :). Be sure to share if you make any headway.
