C-Clip or press on master link ??

Will the C-Clip last ?? Looking to get a new chain and it comes with a C-Clip .

Is that a bad thing or should I bring it to the stealership to press one on...

Thanks....

I raced for 14 years with clip type master links and never had any reason to worry. I did put a turn of wire around it though. Hell I safety wired the foot pegs too.

id go for the rivet type though... just for piece of mind.

its not pretty when that two cent clip fails... the chain comes whipping around and can punch a nice hole in the engine... if it can do that, just imagine what it would do to your leg.

should I bring it to the stealership to press one on...
no you should just do it yourself.

rivet type is better but masters work just as well and you dont need special tools to install. if your worried about the clip falling out a trick is to put a gob of rtv or jb weld on it to hold it in place.

you really don't need special tools to install , unless a hammer and a punch are that unusual , just need a chain breaker to remove or a good grinder.
