I sold my bike. My reasons are as follows. First, I was mad at the site. Really, it pissed me off. I'm not sure who to blame but that doesn't matter. Second, I knew someone that wanted a good first bike. I also just got my first real job and wanted to reward myself. Finally, it was time for change. The end result was this beauty right here. My candy apple red 919 with the original Fire Blade motor.

I still get to see my old 500 now and again. I spent a lot of time teaching the guy how to ride it. The day I sold it he hoped on for a ride. I figured he knew how to ride a stick so it's no big deal. He gets on it, revs the balls off it then pops the clutch. He does a beautiful wheelie and crashes in a neighbors lawn hitting a rock. Not a lot of damage but it was a sad day indeed.

Soo... how are you liking the 919? I got myself a CBR600RR, but have to admit that I really like the 919. I just had to have the RR first, and funds/fiancee dictate that I don't have both at once :'(

It seems as though if I were to cross the EX and CBR, throw in a little more torque, I'd have the 919...

I really like the 919. It's comfortable, powerful, nimble and gets 50mpg. I get to ride my buddies 636 sometimes and we both think that my bike feels lighter, although it's not. I did a lot of research for the best bike for me and I have no regrets. It's cheaper than an RR too.

I have nothing bad to say about the 500 either. It's a great bike, I just needed to experiance something different and it's made me appreciate the 500 even more.

Nice looking bike. I tend to prefer the full fairing styles, but that looks pretty sweet.

I think I'll still be riding my 500 for a couple years, until either my fiance breaks down and buys me a new one, or I quit journalism and get a factory job...

I've always dug the 919's. Solid bike from what i've heard. Only mods I'd really do is get a twin headlight pack & an aftermarket exhaust.
As far as your buddie's 636, sounds like he needs to adjust the suspension. Lower the tripple clamp a few mm and i'm sure it'll liven the bike right up.
