Yorkie is correct. My opinion? Leave it! Yeah, chain fling and other oil deposits look a bit messy, when you go "looking" for it... Otherwise sometimes all that oil can help protect metal surfaces down there from moisture and rust etc. The only time I ever clean that area of the bike is when I'm doing an oil/filter change! Even then, it's just a cursory wipe with an oily rag to check for leaks etc (none). We're not riding a Show Pony guys :)
