Ok this is my first post so here goes.
I have recently aquired a 1995 ex-500 that has 400 miles and has been in storage since 1996 (owner was Scared to ride)
yay for me . I have a few questions if any body can help it would be appreciated!!
1. what is the correct spark plug gap?
2. I have a drivability issue under light accelleration between 3900 rpm and about 5000 rpm the engine brakes up a little
it still has plenty of power it just runs a little rough but if you crack the throttle it runs ok.
i have taken the carbs off and cleaned them double checking all of the jets and circuits (pilot jet 3 times)
and i have also removed the fuel tank and had it cleaned,replaced the screens and all of the fuel lines.
it will start and run ok ??? ??? please help me
oh i did also synch the carbs to within 1" of mercury.......
spark plugs and all fluids were changed also running 91 octane fuel...

^ that and check also the plugs boot, remove all rush of change the cables

Dunno about the plugs gab :-\ it's probably in my Clymer manual at home..

Is the gap any different between first and second generation EX's?

Wow that is a first I hear for a ex.

Haha....I'm scared every time I go for a ride on the street. If your not your going to get killed. Everyone is trying to kill you....that could just save your life.
