I just installed new mirrors. I purchased the stock mirrors for the Ninja650 from the local Kawasaki dealer. They were $56 each plus tax. They are almost 2 inches wider and provide a terrific rear view for watching traffic. The Ninja-650 mirrors bolt right on with no modifications. (2-minute job). They seem to be a little more aerodynamic than the stock EX-500 mirrors too.

Other than the price, I am a happy camper/rider!

Bolt on to which generation EX500?

Sorry, I have the "Fast" Blue 2003 (Manic's Bar-end weights; Motorcyclelarry's bar riser; Tour Master magnetic tank bag; & looking for a Corbin saddle)

I'll get some pictures posted later (Son has the camera and is out of town right now)

Ride safe -

Sojon, why'd your mirror fail?I was planning a trip to the salvage yard to see if I could find some 6/r or 9/r mirrors.By the way,I tried the trick that someone posted on another thread of swapping the stockers left and right. You gain a tiny bit more visabilaty and they look funny.

i assume poor construction/quality
the nut that holds the mirror onto the stock came loose
the mirrors i had gotten were from ebay... not from kawasaki

the problem might be a one time deal, cause my other mirror is perfecty fine

looking at mirrors on ebay as well ,a set poped up
Genuine Kawasaki green mirrors.
Part# 56001-1377-6W(RH)-and LH part# 56001-1376-6W
FIT: ZX750/EX500 Ninja Mirrors (they look like they would fit my 2006 BUT GREEN)

Another set poped up saying this would fit: Kawasaki EX500, ZX600 Ninja, ZX1000 (but they dont look whats on my 2006), so they may fit the older 500 bikes, someone know if there is a difference mounting wise in 1st and 2nd gen mirrors?

and another: KAWASAKI
EX500 Ninja 500 1994-2003
ZX600 ZX6R 1995-1997
ZX750 ZX7R 1993-2003
another:
Genuine Kawasaki Mirror
Kawasaki P/N 56001-1251
1987-91 EX500
1985-87 ZX600 Ninja
1987 ZX600-B1 Ninja
1986-87 ZX1000-A Ninja

Yet another says:
Mirror Dampers. Part Number 92075-1745.
Fit EX500 A1 Thru A7 ** ZX1000-A1 A2 ** ZX600 A1 A2 A3 B1 Models,
anyone know what the A1-A7 means related to year models?

so that might give us a clue on what years may or may not, some ebayers just like to over FIT things.

But from all that, models below should interchange.
EX500 Ninja 500r 1994-2007
ZX600 ZX6R 1995-1997
ZX750 ZX7R 1993-2003
Genuine Kawasaki Part# 56001-1377-6W(RH)-and LH part# 56001-1376-6W

Genuine Kawasaki Part# 56001-1251
1987-91 EX500
1985-87 ZX600 Ninja
1987 ZX600-B1 Ninja
1986-87 ZX1000-A Ninja

I also found At Twisted Throttle
http://www.twistedthrottle.com/trade/productview/2516/139/

SW-MOTECH mirror wideners (Kawasaki EX500 Ninja,'94-/Ninja 650R,'06-/Z750S/ZX6R/ZX10/ZX12/ZX14

So by that it would seem alot of different bikes could maybe use the same mirrors as ours

Anyone have the wideners or tried any of the other bikes mirrors?

Nice reference list.

The A1-A7 is first gen bikes. The second gens went to "D". Kaw uses those designations on pretty much every bike they make. I believe my KZ is an A2 and the Vulcan is a D1. Back in the day KZs had As, Bs, Cs, Ds, Fs, who knows what else.

When I first got the Ninja one of the mirrors was messed up so I grabbed the mirror off a wrecked CBR we had. Totally stock it wasn't even close, but I was able to swap the baseplate (the part that bolts to the bike) and fit it up. That particular mirror looked weird, but I just thought I'd throw it out there that there are quite a few mirrors that use the same baseplate style setup that could be played with for some decent results. Just took a couple of washers and a few minutes.
