What would be the down side of replacing the front turn signals with driving lights? How much would the wattage difference be? Would that cause charging problems? Assuming the driving lights were 25W-35W.

I know the turn signals don't have a robust mounting system but would it be strong enough for the driving lights?

Just curious.

I don't think it would be a very good idea on the EX..

a.lee.hagen did install some fog lights and he said that his battery was drained quickly..

As far as my understanding goes, there aren't many spare watts on the EX

Bulbs are 8/23 Watt. Looks like tail lights are the same. So thats 4 at 8 watts steaddy state for 32W. Probably with some LED replacements for the others the fronts could be driving lights if the wimpy stalks could hold.

Not having had any driving lights, I wonder if thye come with stalks to mount to the bike or would you have to cobb some?

Only the 2 front blinkers are always on at 8 watts each, that's 16 watts total in front

The 2 at the back are only on when flashing ;)

8 watts/signal up front as always on running lamps (2*8W)/13.4VDC=1.2A

(35W x 2)/13.4VDC=5.2A

Almost 5 times the draw. be sure to check your fuses before you turn them on.
