nice day out today, so i warmed up the bike and took her out for a spin.

after about 10 miles, something was amiss. once i reached about 4k, power was lacking. it felt like it was running on one cyl. if i gave it more gas, the power would come and go. very herky jerky. it seemed like one cyl was only firing intermittently... my first thought was a bad plug. i pulled them and they both looked fine. no fouling to speak of or anything. color was good too...

petcock is fine, fuel filter isnt clogged... carb problem? ignition problem?

you mean you pulled the petcock out and made sure the screens are clean?

pull the pilots anyway, give em a good hosing of carb cleaner.
