Im sure there are many ways to remove rust (some flakey stuff inside) from the tank but what method have you used thats easy and cheap. I heard yamaha has a good product.

Similar question, but mine isn't rust, it's this white scale. I think it's from bad gas sitting in there for long periods of time from previous owners, but it doesn't wipe off and I have a hard time getting a chisel in there. It is flakey enough that I have to change out fuel filters every couple weeks.

Ideas?

not sure if they do this anymore but they had epoxy for this years ago , my dad had to do one of my bikes when I was a kid the keep my tank from rusting all the way through.
