My 2009 shift lever has been provided unreliable shifting since I bought it used a couple of years ago. I simply "nurse" it along. I have searched everywhere and find plenty of starts, but not finishes; someone will post about this issue, get several pieces of advice, and then vanish. So, I don't know what worked and what didn't work. There are 3 springs--1 butterfly one one and two coil springs. My problem is probably the "return" spring, but I might as well change all of them while I am in there.

I know to remove the sprocket cover and shifter shaft cover. What is the process for spring access and removal? I have a basic manual, but first-hand knowledge and experience is more valuable.

My thanks in advance.
